The Institute is providing Consultancy services on Establishment and Management of Commercial Goat Farms on payment basis.
ICAR-CIRG, Makhdoom started celebration of “ Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava”, with the
organization of a three training programme (28-30 June, 2021) on “Scientific Goat Farming” and
exposure visit under DAPSC project. A total of 188 scheduled caste beneficiaries (138 male and
50 female) belonging to 18 villages of Mathura district attended the programme in three days and
every day only 60-70 participants came to the institute. Each trainee was given one sheep/goat
feeder, 50kg. animal feed, refreshment and lunch all the three days. During training, participants
were taught about goat breeding, management, animal nutrition, health care and goat marketing
during training programme. On 30.06.2021, an exposure visit was organized in which all the
trainee took round the livestock units and agricultural farm and explained various activities of the
Dr. B. Rai, Director, Dr. Saket Bhusan, Head, GGB Division, Dr. Braj Mohan, I/C,
EE&SE Section and DAPSC team members Dr. Gopal Dass, Principal Scientis, Dr. Arvind
Kumar, Sr. Scientist, Dr. Nitika Sharma, Sr. Scientist, Dr. A. K. Dixit, Principal Scientist, Dr.
Mohd. Arif, Scientist & Dr. Vijay Kishore, Senior Technical Officer were present in the
inaugural function of this programme.
Dr. Gopal Dass, Nodal Officer of the project explained about the present activities of the
project and activities to be carried out in future under DAPSC Project. He stated that the main
objective of this project is to increase the income of poor scheduled caste beneficiaries through
their skill development and interventions in goat and agricultural production.
Dr. Braj Mohan, Pr. Scientist detailed about various training programme and other field
activities carrying out by the institute for the development of rural poors related to goat farming.
He also appealed to all participants to remain touched with CIRG for getting further benefits. Dr.
Saket Bhusan, Pr. Scientist appreciated the activities of DAPSC Project. He stated that this
scheme is a real good work for the upliftment of poor scheduled caste rural families. He thanked
Govt. of India for giving sufficient fund to this scheme.
Dr. B. Rai, Director (Acting). appreciated the activities and style of working of DAPSC
project team. In his inaugural speech he mentioned about the importance of goat farming
especially for resource poor farmers. He also stressed upon that the poor people can start goat
farming with low investment to meet out financial and nutritional requirements of their family.
He appealed all the beneficiaries to remain in touched with CIRG for further benefits as our
institute is always ready to help you all.
Dr. Arvind Kumar, Sr. Scientist convened the function and explained the meaning of
“Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava”. He stated that our country is going to complete its 75 years of
independence on 15 August, 2022, hence till 15.08.2022, various activities will be carried out in
the institute. In the last, Dr. Nitika Sharma proposed vote of thanks to Director, institute
scientists & officials and all training participants for sparing valuable time and making the
function a success.
